Yoga is For Everyone:
In 1998 I began teaching yoga to others. Yoga has always been a
coming home for me. In 2000 I immersed myself in India for one year.
This was a pivotal experience in my life. I had
the opportunity to live in a yoga hospital studying yoga therapy with Dr. Karandikar, while
practicing alignment with
B.K.S. Iyengar in the evenings. My studies in India went from ashtanga yoga in Mysore to hatha yoga and chanting
at
the Sivananda ashram, to the mountains learning meditation and sitting with the Dalai Lama. Since that time I have trained
with many
amazing teachers from yin yoga, power flow, to prenatal yoga, yet when I sit to teach, it is the time in
India that guides me. What I hope
most to bring to my students is an opportunity to experience without judgment their
own unique expression of the union of their physical,
mental and spiritual bodies. In each class I fuse intention and
pranayama with asana and chanting. My training of yoga has taken me to
mountain shamanism. This is currently
my deepest place of study and teaching. I have a private practice as a healer and teacher as the founder
of Indigo
Bridge- Centre for Shamanic Studies, Yoga and Expressive Arts.
